Pull SCSI updates from James Bottomley:
"Usual driver updates (ufs, lpfc, target, qla2xxx) plus assorted
cleanups and fixes including the WQ_PERCPU series.
The biggest core change is the new allocation of pseudo-devices which
allow the sending of internal commands to a given SCSI target"

In 2009, commit c82f63e411f1 ("PCI: check saved state before restore")
changed the behavior of pci_restore_state() such that it became necessary
to call pci_save_state() afterwards, lest recovery from subsequent PCI
errors fails.
The commit has just been reverted and so all the pci_save_state() after
pci_restore_state() calls that have accumulated in the tree are now
superfluous. Drop them.
Two drivers chose a different approach to achieve the same result:
drivers/scsi/ipr.c and drivers/net/ethernet/intel/e1000e/netdev.c set the
pci_dev's "state_saved" flag to true before calling pci_restore_state().
Drop this as well.

Let's consider a nohz_full system with isolated CPUs: wq_unbound_cpumask is
set to the housekeeping CPUs, for !WQ_UNBOUND the local CPU is selected.
This leads to different scenarios if a work item is scheduled on an
isolated CPU where "delay" value is 0 or greater then 0:
schedule_delayed_work(, 0);
This will be handled by __queue_work() that will queue the work item on the
current local (isolated) CPU, while:
schedule_delayed_work(, 1);
Will move the timer on an housekeeping CPU, and schedule the work there.
Currently if a user enqueue a work item using schedule_delayed_work() the
used wq is "system_wq" (per-cpu wq) while queue_delayed_work() use
WORK_CPU_UNBOUND (used when a cpu is not specified). The same applies to
schedule_work() that is using system_wq and queue_work(), that makes use
again of WORK_CPU_UNBOUND.
This lack of consistency cannot be addressed without refactoring the API.

alloc_workqueue() treats all queues as per-CPU by default, while unbound
workqueues must opt-in via WQ_UNBOUND.
This default is suboptimal: most workloads benefit from unbound queues,
allowing the scheduler to place worker threads where they’re needed and
reducing noise when CPUs are isolated.
This change adds a new WQ_PERCPU flag to explicitly request
alloc_workqueue() to be per-cpu when WQ_UNBOUND has not been specified.
This patch continues the effort to refactor worqueue APIs, which has
begun with the change introducing new workqueues and a new
alloc_workqueue flag:

With the introduction of the WQ_PERCPU flag (equivalent to !WQ_UNBOUND),
any alloc_workqueue() caller that doesn’t explicitly specify WQ_UNBOUND
must now use WQ_PERCPU.
Once migration is complete, WQ_UNBOUND can be removed and unbound will
become the implicit default.

Currently, there is a kref put in the lpfc_cleanup() routine that takes
care of outstanding references on fabric controller ndlps in UNUSED
state. While typically there is a state change from UNUSED -> REGLOGIN
when the ndlp successfully logs into the fabric, there may be cases when
FLOGI is unsuccessful and the ndlp will remain in UNUSED state without a
registered rpi, yet the ndlp incorrectly has a kref count of one.
To address this, handling of Fabric Controller ndlps are moved into the
routines: lpfc_issue_els_scr(), lpfc_issue_els_rdf(),
lpfc_cmpl_els_disc_cmd().
In both lpfc_issue_els_scr() and lpfc_issue_els_rdf(), if there does not
exist a previously created fabric controller ndlp, an ndlp will be
created. Otherwise, we can reuse the pre-existing ndlp object.
In lpfc_cmpl_els_disc_cmd(), if the SCR or RDF are not successfully
issued, the initial reference on the ndlp that is not registered with
upper layers will be decremented with a kref_put().

Update PRLI status log message to automatically warn when CQE status is
non-zero.
When issuing an RSCN, log ndlp's kref count to the debugfs trace buffer.
Add the NPIV virtual port index to the FDMI registration log message
with the fabric.

In lpfc_cleanup, there is an extraneous nlp_put for NPIV ports on the
F_Port_Ctrl ndlp object. In cases when an ABTS is issued, the
outstanding kref is needed for when a second XRI_ABORTED CQE is
received. The final kref for the ndlp is designed to be decremented in
lpfc_sli4_els_xri_aborted instead. Also, add a new log message to allow
for future diagnostics when debugging related issues.

Back in 2017, commit 2fd260f03b6a ("PCI/AER: Remove unused .link_reset()
callback") removed .link_reset() from struct pci_error_handlers, but left
a few code comments behind which still mention it. Remove them.
The code comments in the SolarFlare Ethernet drivers point out that no
.mmio_enabled() callback is needed because the driver's .error_detected()
callback always returns PCI_ERS_RESULT_NEED_RESET, which causes
pcie_do_recovery() to skip .mmio_enabled(). That's not quite correct
because efx_io_error_detected() does return PCI_ERS_RESULT_RECOVERED under
certain conditions and then .mmio_enabled() would indeed be called if it
were implemented. Remove this misleading portion of the code comment as
well.

Obsolete adapters' model description strings are updated to indicate that
they are no longer supported. End-of-life adapters will still remain
probed by the lpfc driver based on PCI id.

There are unnecessary checks on an HBA's interface type and family before
erroring out a failed lpfc_get_sli4_parameters mailbox command. Simplify
the error handling by logging a message and proceeding to memory free
labels.

A PCI function reset implies a temporary disappearance of a fc_rport.
So, call lpfc_scsi_dev_block(), which sets all mapped fc_rports into the
temporary FC_PORTSTATE_BLOCKED state. Once PCI function reset completes
and link reinitialized, the fc_rport is rediscovered and
FC_PORTSTATE_BLOCKED state is removed.

timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree
over and remove the historical wrapper inlines.
Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.

Pull timer cleanups from Thomas Gleixner:
"A treewide hrtimer timer cleanup
hrtimers are initialized with hrtimer_init() and a subsequent store to
the callback pointer. This turned out to be suboptimal for the
upcoming Rust integration and is obviously a silly implementation to
begin with.
This cleanup replaces the hrtimer_init(T); T->function = cb; sequence
with hrtimer_setup(T, cb);
The conversion was done with Coccinelle and a few manual fixups.
Once the conversion has completely landed in mainline, hrtimer_init()
will be removed and the hrtimer::function becomes a private member"

secs_to_jiffies(). As the value here is a multiple of 1000, use
secs_to_jiffies() instead of msecs_to_jiffies() to avoid the multiplication

Calling cpumask_next_wrap_old() with starting CPU equal to wrapping CPU
is the same as request to find next CPU, wrapping around if needed.
cpumask_next_wrap() is the proper replacement for that.

The next patch aligns implementation of cpumask_next_wrap() with the
find_next_bit_wrap(), and it changes function signature.
To make the transition smooth, this patch deprecates current
implementation by adding an _old suffix. The following patches switch
current users to the new implementation one by one.
No functional changes were intended.

hrtimer_setup() takes the callback function pointer as argument and
initializes the timer completely.
Replace hrtimer_init() and the open coded initialization of
hrtimer::function with the new setup mechanism.

An RPI is tightly bound to an NDLP structure and is freed only upon
release of an NDLP object. As such, there should be no logic that frees
an RPI outside of the lpfc_nlp_release() routine. In order to reinforce
the original design usage of RPIs, remove the NLP_RELEASE_RPI flag and
related logic.

An HBA reset request that is executed when there are outstanding NVME-LS
commands can cause delays for the reset process to complete. Fix by
introducing a new routine called lpfc_nvmels_flush_cmd() that walks the
phba->nvmels_wq list and cancels outstanding submitted NVME-LS requests
speeding up the HBA reset process.

During initialization, the driver allocates wq->pring in lpfc_wq_create
and lpfc_sli4_queue_unset() is the only place where kfree(wq->pring) is
called.
There is a possible memory leak in lpfc_sli_brdrestart_s4() (restart)
and lpfc_pci_remove_one_s4() (rmmod) paths because there are no calls to
lpfc_sli4_queue_unset() to kfree() the wq->pring.
Fix by inserting a call to lpfc_sli4_queue_unset() in
lpfc_sli_brdrestart_s4() and lpfc_sli4_hba_unset() routines. Also, add
a check for the SLI_ACTIVE flag before issuing the Q_DESTROY mailbox
command. If not set, then the mailbox command will obviously fail. In
such cases, skip issuing the mailbox command and only execute the driver
resource clean up portions of the lpfc_*q_destroy routines.

The VMID feature adds an extra application services header to each frame.
As such, the loopback test path is updated to accommodate the extra
application header.
Changes include filling in APPID and WQES bit fields for XMIT_SEQUENCE64
commands, a special loopback source APPID for verifying received loopback
data matches what is sent, and increasing ELS WQ size to accommodate the
APPID field in loopback test mode.

An older generation of HBAs are failing FCP discovery due to usage of an
outdated field in FCP command WQEs.
Fix by checking the SLI Interface Type register for applicable support of
32 Byte CDB commands, and restore a setting for a WQE path using normal 16
byte CDBs.

A NULL dev->dma_parms indicates either a bus that is not DMA capable or
grave bug in the implementation of the bus code.
There isn't much the driver can do in terms of error handling for either
case, so just warn and continue as DMA operations will fail anyway.

The driver's I/O path is updated to support 32 byte CDBs.
Changes to accommodate 32 byte CDBs include:
- Updating various size fields to allow for the larger 32 byte CDB.
- Starting the FCP command payload at an earlier offset in WQE submission
to fit the 32 byte CDB.
- Redefining relevant structs to __le32/__be32 data types for proper cpu
endianness macro usage.

In LPFC_MBOXQ_t, the ctx_buf ptr shouldn't be defined as a generic void
*ptr. It is named ctx_buf and it should only be used as an lpfc_dmabuf
*ptr. Due to the void* declaration, there have been abuses of ctx_buf for
things not related to lpfc_dmabuf.
So, set the ptr type for *ctx_buf as lpfc_dmabuf. Remove all type casts on
ctx_buf because it is no longer a void *ptr. Convert the abuse of ctx_buf
for something not related to lpfc_dmabuf to use the void *context3 ptr.
A particular abuse of the ctx_buf warranted a new void *ext_buf ptr.
However, the usage of this new void *ext_buf is not generic. It is
intended to only hold virtual addresses for extended mailbox commands.

IRQF_ONESHOT is found to mask HBA generated interrupts when thread_fn is
running. As a result, some EQEs/CQEs miss timely processing resulting in
SCSI layer attempts to abort commands due to io_timeout. Abort CQEs are
also not processed leading to the observations of hangs and spam of "0748
abort handler timed out waiting for aborting I/O" log messages.
Remove the IRQF_ONESHOT flag. The cmpxchg and xchg atomic operations on
lpfc_queue->queue_claimed already protect potential parallel access to an
EQ/CQ should the thread_fn get interrupted by the primary irq handler.

In attempt to reduce the amount of unnecessary shost_lock acquisitions in
the lpfc driver, change load_flag into an unsigned long bitmask and use
clear_bit/test_bit bitwise atomic APIs instead of reliance on shost_lock
for synchronization.
Also, correct the test for FC_UNLOADING in lpfc_ct_handle_mibreq, which
incorrectly tests vport->fc_flag rather than vport->load_flag.

In attempt to reduce the amount of unnecessary shost_lock acquisitions in
the lpfc driver, replace shost_lock with an explicit fc_nodes_list_lock
spinlock when accessing vport->fc_nodes lists. Although vport memory
region is owned by shost->hostdata, it is driver private memory and an
explicit fc_nodes list lock for fc_nodes list mutations is more appropriate
than locking the entire shost.

There is no reason to use the shost_lock to synchronize an LLDD statistics
counter. Convert all the nlp state statistic counters into atomic_t.
Corresponding zeroing, increments, and reads are converted to atomic
versions.

into the specific lpfc_sli4_async_sli_evt() routine instead of being

Because file_name and phba->ModelName are both declared a size 80 bytes,
the extra ".grp" file extension could cause an overflow into file_name.
Define a ELX_FW_NAME_SIZE macro with value 84. 84 incorporates the 4 extra
characters from ".grp". file_name is changed to be declared as a char and
initialized to zeros i.e. null chars.
