2025-11-21KVM: s390: Add capability that forwards operation exceptionsJanosch Frank
Setting KVM_CAP_S390_USER_OPEREXEC will forward all operation exceptions to user space. This also includes the 0x0000 instructions managed by KVM_CAP_S390_USER_INSTR0. It's helpful if user space wants to emulate instructions which do not (yet) have an opcode. While we're at it refine the documentation for KVM_CAP_S390_USER_INSTR0. 2025-10-10KVM: selftests: Add wrappers for mmap() and munmap() to assert successSean Christopherson
Add and use wrappers for mmap() and munmap() that assert success to reduce a significant amount of boilerplate code, to ensure all tests assert on failure, and to provide consistent error messages on failure. No functional change intended. 2025-09-30Merge tag 'kvm-x86-selftests-6.18' of https://github.com/kvm-x86/linux into HEADPaolo Bonzini
KVM selftests changes for 6.18 - Add #DE coverage in the fastops test (the only exception that's guest- triggerable in fastop-emulated instructions). - Fix PMU selftests errors encountered on Granite Rapids (GNR), Sierra Forest (SRF) and Clearwater Forest (CWF). - Minor cleanups and improvements
2025-09-24KVM: arm64: selftests: Create a VGICv3 for 'default' VMsOliver Upton
Start creating a VGICv3 by default unless explicitly opted-out by the test. While having an interrupt controller is nice, the real benefit here is clearing a hurdle for EL2 VMs which mandate the presence of a VGIC. 2025-01-31KVM: s390: selftests: Streamline uc_skey test to issue iske after sskeChristoph Schlameuss
In some rare situations a non default storage key is already set on the memory used by the test. Within normal VMs the key is reset / zapped when the memory is added to the VM. This is not the case for ucontrol VMs. With the initial iske check removed this test case can work in all situations. The function of the iske instruction is still validated by the remaining code. 2025-01-31KVM: s390: selftests: fix ucontrol memory region testClaudio Imbrenda
With the latest patch, attempting to create a memslot from userspace will result in an EEXIST error for UCONTROL VMs, instead of EINVAL, since the new memslot will collide with the internal memslot. There is no simple way to bring back the previous behaviour. This is not a problem, but the test needs to be fixed accordingly. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/chenhuacai/linux-loongson into HEAD LoongArch KVM changes for v6.14 1. Clear LLBCTL if secondary mmu mapping changed. 2. Add hypercall service support for usermode VMM. This is a really small changeset, because the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) is coming. Happy New Year!
2024-12-18KVM: selftests: Use canonical $(ARCH) paths for KVM selftests directoriesSean Christopherson
Use the kernel's canonical $(ARCH) paths instead of the raw target triple for KVM selftests directories. KVM selftests are quite nearly the only place in the entire kernel that using the target triple for directories, tools/testing/selftests/drivers/s390x being the lone holdout. Using the kernel's preferred nomenclature eliminates the minor, but annoying, friction of having to translate to KVM's selftests directories, e.g. for pattern matching, opening files, running selftests, etc. Opportunsitically delete file comments that reference the full path of the file, as they are obviously prone to becoming stale, and serve no known purpose.
